Ebony. Female. Age 9
Ebony arrived her with her Mum Dolly, and they previously had the best lives any donkey could wish for. Sadly their owners’ circumstances changed and they were given to a friend in good faith; unfortunately that didn’t work out and both donkeys were not looked after properly, and their situation was quite dire when they arrived here. Ebony was very ill, she had lost a lot of weight and suffered badly with rainscald. It took months of close supervision, good nutrition, veterinary treatment and daily applications of medicated creams before we started to see a major improvement in Ebony’s condition. Thankfully now they are both in good health and a firm favourite with everyone because despite everything they have been through they are just the nicest donkeys ever.
Ebony is 7 years old, and tragically she was also born with health problems and has hind leg issues; and we would probably describe her as disabled.  Due to their dreadful history, Ebony and Dolly will stay here in sanctuary with us forever.  Despite everything, Ebony just loves people and loves a a fuss and a cuddle but most of all she adores a good scratch! She’s just the sweetest, most beautiful donkey and can be quite playful,  and we are so glad she and Dolly ended up here.
Sponsoring Ebony costs only £40 for the year, which can be paid in one payment or £4.00 a month direct debit. It’s up to you!
In return you will receive a welcome email, your downloadable Sponsorship Certificate and a digital photo of her, plus a voucher for entry to one or all of our open days here at Durham Donkey Rescue for the duration of your sponsorship where you will get the opportunity to meet and hug Ebony and her companions.
