Dolly. Female. Age 16
Dolly arrived with her daughter Ebony, and previously they had the best lives any donkey could wish for. Sadly their owners’ circumstances changed and they were given to a friend in good faith; unfortunately that didn’t work out and both donkeys were not looked after properly, and their situation was quite dire when they first arrived at the rescue. With a lot of work, good nutrition and veterinary care they are both now in good health and a firm favourite with everyone because they are just the nicest donkeys ever, and due to their dreadful experiences they will stay here in sanctuary forever. Dolly is 16 now, and can be a little greedy and therefore prone to weight gain, (which is tricky as we continue to try to build up Ebony). Dolly has a very distinctive voice and is such a lovable donkey. She is mellowing all the time and everyone falls in love with her beautiful face and molten chocolate eyes!
Sponsoring Dolly costs only £40 for the year, which can be paid in one payment or £4.00 a month direct debit. It’s up to you!
In return you will receive a welcome email, your downloadable Sponsorship Certificate and a digital photo of her, plus a voucher for personal entry to one or all of our open days here at Durham Donkey Rescue for the duration of your sponsorship where you will get the opportunity to meet and hug Dolly and her companions.

Any surplus money accumulated through sponsorship of a particular donkey is then spread amongst the other donkeys so they all share your care!
