Big Jack. Male. Age 12.
Adopting Big Jack means that you are helping secure his future, in the lifestyle to which he has become accustomed.
Big Jack is 12 years old, he was a stallion when he came here with his little family; wife Harriet, son Piglet, baby Hugo and he is now father to baby girl Harmony! Needless to say he was gelded shortly after arriving here as he was proving to be a bit of a boy!!  He was very well looked after before he came to us but his owner just couldn’t cope with the ever growing family any more.
He now lives in the bachelor pad with Billy. Â He is super, super friendly and loves meeting people, he loves to rest his head on a shoulder and receive hugs and kisses, and he will nudge you if you stop!
Sponsoring Big Jack costs only £40 for the year, which can be paid in one payment or £4.00 a month direct debit. It’s up to you!
In return you receive a welcome email, your downloadable Sponsorship Certificate and a photo of him, along with a voucher for free entry to one or all of our open days here at Durham Donkey Rescue for the duration of your sponsorship, where you will have the opportunity to meet and hug Jack and companions.

A sponsorship makes the ideal gift, and helps one of our lovely donkeys too.
Sponsoring one of our donkeys makes you part of our team. We couldn’t do it without you!
What we do at the rescue relies purely on the dedication and determination of our volunteers and every penny of sponsorships received in order to ensure the donkeys receive the best care possible.
Your sponsorship makes all of this possible, and brings you into the Durham Donkey Rescue family.
Any surplus money that is accumulated through sponsorship of a particular donkey is then spread amongst the other donkeys so they all share your care!
Durham Donkey Rescue is a registered Charity no. 1201801
You can rehome our donkeys. We only rehome to approved & vetted homes. We only rehome in pairs or in a single to a home that already has a donkey. This enables us to break the cycle of donkeys being on their own. We do not rehome donkeys to become companions for other animals. An adoption fee is payable and terms and conditions apply. This enables us to help more donkeys. If you think you can provide a safe and loving home, please get in touch.
You can volunteer for us if you are interested in becoming part of our Durham Donkey family. You must be over the age of 18. We require help with various aspects of donkey care, DIY & maintenance and more!
